The British Standard, 5837:2005 Trees in Relation to Construction Recommendations is intended for the retention and protection of trees which may be affected during the construction processes of new developments or any building work. The standard lays out guidelines to be followed to ensure trees are protected from unnecessary removal and retained trees are protected correctly from the construction activities taking place around them.
